Meet the Artist: MARGARET FERRARO
 |
Coming from an artistically involved family; both parents fine-artists, there was no doubt
in my mind that I would follow the same path. As I studied art at some of the finest art
schools in the country, I majored in Advertising Art and Marketing, which led me to a very
exciting career at that time, or so I thought. But being the restless person that I am,
something was definitely missing. I pursued new fields in the art industry, was successful,
earned
|
popularity, but I was tired of putting the act of a tailored suit business woman, and
minding my manners for my career's sake. I wanted a change, except I did not know what I wanted
out of life, what to do or where I belonged until I started riding. What a thrill...only us
who rides can find the words to describe the sense of freedom and the closeness we feel with
with all the nature's elements we face when we ride. So I traded quite gladly the business
attires for the leather garbs, and also decided to paint on bikes, never imagining that working
on bikes would guarantee a busy schedule and the freedom to ride any time I want, to places
where I can be alone with my bike and and sketch pad, and create unique images for my clients.
Best of all is that being a biker, I can "feel" what others want on their bikes, because when
you ride, you and your bike becomes a fantasy among a world of fantasies.
